General Session Information
Our goal is to create amazing images for you and your family. We strive to make our sessions fun and as stress free as possible.
Your satisfaction with our work is fully guaranteed!
We are by appointment only for all portrait sessions, preview sessions or other meetings so that we can give our clients our undivided attention.
Our Studio hours are Tuesday - Friday 10am - 6 pm and Saturday 10am - 2pm, however, we do have appointments outside of the studio which means that sometimes we are not available so please call before you drop by.
Please be on time, however, no more than 10 minutes early. Appointments in which you arrive more than 20 minutes late will need to be rescheduled.
Weather: If an outdoor session is scheduled and there is snow or rain we will need to reschedule your session. Cloudy days can provide wonderful lighting as long as the light isn't too dark.
A Guide to Looking Your Best
Clothing, Style and Prop Selection can affect the artistic success of any portrait. We want you to look and feel your best during your session. Below are some suggestions to help you prepare for your portrait session.
Clothing: Images look best when the viewer's eye is drawn to your face. Keep things simple. Solid colors work great. Try to stay away from bold patters like stripes, plaids and prints. Your portrait session is not the time to try on a "new look". For sessions with more than one person make sure to coordinate everyone's clothing, certain colors may clash. Also, don't forget your shoes. Worn or dirty shoes can ruin an image.
Hair: Don't try a new hairstyle just for your session and have your hair cut around a week before your session. For guys...a fresh shave is a must. If you have a beard or mustache, make sure it is trimmed to your liking. For the ladies...cleanly shaven legs and underarms are the best way to photograph your skin in those areas. Remember to use lotion so that your skin does not appear dry.
Skin: Don't worry if you develop a skin problem. Our finished portraits can be fully retouched to eliminate blemishes.
Nails: Should be clean and neatly filed. French manicures look great. Color polish should be avoided on your fingernails.
Makeup: You will need a little extra color. Photographs tend to lighten your skin. A little extra blush and mascara are also needed. Bring your makeup to the session. You will need to make touch ups and powder is a must.
Tanning: Don't tan within a few days of your session. Sunburn is exaggerated in photography and makes your skin look shiny. Spray and self tanners should be avoided because when photographed your skin will look orange and blotchy. Moderate sun tan is best.
Glasses: Glare from glasses can lead to extra retouching charges. We will work with you to eliminate what glare we can, however, if you can go without or have the lens removed it would be best. Glasses that change color can not be photographed.
Stress: Often people feel stressed out over a photo session. Please don't feel that way at our studio! We have a fun casual atmosphere with upbeat music on. And if you happen to just be having "one of those days", don't worry we will work with you to make the most of the session or even reschedule.
Express Yourself!
Your portraits are all about who you are and what makes you unique.
If you have a hobby or interest bring it into your session! Musical instruments, art supplies, theatrical costumes, cheerleading or athletic uniforms, skateboards or...whatever is your thing, bring it in.
Bring all your ideas as well, the creative process begins and ends with you!
